Check out some of our commonly asked questions here!
Q: Is Beta Alpha Psi a fraternity? Do I have to pledge?
A: Beta Alpha Psi is not a fraternity and does not have a pledging process. Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students. There are pre-determined GPA and attendance requirements stated on our website that candidates must meet throughout their candidacy semester in order to become a member. Candidates are allowed to attend all of the same meetings, technicals, events, and social events as initiated members.
Q: Can I join Beta Alpha Psi as a sophomore?
A: Yes. You will not be able to become an initiated member until you complete an upper level course in your major. For example, accounting majors must complete MGA 314 and MGA 301 before they can get initiated. However, you will still be able to attend all the same events and firm technicals as junior candidates and members.
Q: What do my dues go to?
A: Candidates must pay $110 in order to cover the costs of their initiation. Members must pay $50 to cover their annual dues to the national office. Dues also help cover the costs of food after every meeting, reduced and/or free social events, and a reduced price to the regional meeting.
Q: Am I allowed to join more than one committee?
A: Of course! Please indicate which committees you would like to be a part of in your candidate interview.
